This is an exciting time to join our growing Church of England Multi-Academy Trust.  We are seeking to appoint a qualified Finance Director who has significant experience leading a finance function within a Multi-Academy Trust and who is seeking to use and develop their skills further in helping us grow our Trust over the next few years.

With several new schools planned for conversion imminently (and a further 8 schools currently exploring joining the Trust), you will be part of a journey that sees us reshape the way the Trust works as we start to organise ourselves differently considering our growth. As a strategic leader and thinker, you will have overall responsibility for our finance function which includes consolidated management accounting, policy, planning and delivery.  You will be able to bring new and creative ideas to the table as we look to mitigate the challenges many inner-London schools face, including falling pupil numbers, reducing income, and ageing estates.

You will have experience leading a team, pursuing opportunities, and driving forward our strategic priorities for finance and resources which includes group procurement, rationalisation, and income generation.  You will also have strong experience in budget setting, monitoring and production of consolidated financial accounts and returns.

The role will involve:

  • shaping the organisation, ensuring it remains financially agile, efficient and sustainable;
  • delivering and embedding our finance and business strategies;
  • overseeing all financial processes ensuring the organisation remains compliant and efficient at all times;
  • being part of, and leading a team equipped and willing to support our schools;
  • ensuring our processes and practices link to the Trust’s Vision and Mission and that our Christian ethos permeates throughout the way we work with our people;
  • liaising with our key stakeholders including; the Trust Board, Local Governing Bodies, Local Authorities and other financial institutions including Department for Education, HMRC and pension providers.

In return, the successful candidate will:

  • be a member of a strong and dynamic team of professionals;
  • be supported through a comprehensive professional development programme;
  • work within an organisation that has high aspirations for all of its pupils and staff;
  • receive a generous holiday entitlement;
  • benefit from membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme;
  • health & wellbeing support;

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!

This is a superb opportunity to develop and progress professionally and to impact upon children’s learning.
