Our People Stories
Laura Holden, Senior Office Manager
The Minster Schools
Since joining the SDBE Trust in April 2022, the support our school has received has been wonderful. From day one, it was clear that we weren’t on this journey alone—the sense of collaboration, care, and shared purpose was immediate and deeply felt.
We benefit from centralised services such as finance and HR, and have regular network meetings which is fantastic. I enjoy meeting with the other School Business and Office Managers within the Trust as it gives us the opportunity to openly share ideas, discuss what works well in our schools, and find solutions to common challenges. Knowing that there is always someone at the end of the phone if I need help or support is invaluable. No question is too silly and I always feel that I am not in it alone.
I first started working as an Attendance Officer in the school office in 2019 and was given the opportunity to do my School Business Managers Diploma. The MAT were so supportive and introduced me to an experienced SBM who offered me support and guidance through my course.
I feel very privileged to not only work with wonderful people at school but also within the Trust. The collaboration means that we’re constantly learning from one another and supporting each other to ensure the best outcomes for our children and schools.
